It wasn’t even raining 60 seconds ago and now it looks like this outside. The hail is bigger than 1/4-inch. Weather is so much fun.

The nasty cold war playthings are chilling within 20-miles of Downtown Seattle.
Or for those of us who grew up vacationing with aunts, uncles and cousins at a log cabin on Hood Canal, this is a bit unsettling since it is literally right around the corner of the canal (technically a fjord).

It did not stick. It tried. Several times throughout the day in fact. But alas, no stick.
But still, it put a big smile on my face to have it stick all over my jacket. Big fluffy flakes on my black fleece and glasses; whirling about as I checked the mailbox and drove to the storage unit to retrieve gift wrap.
It is comforting to have that mental sense of winter and the holidays reinforced by the weather I grew up expecting this time of year.
Update (28 November):

More sleet fell overnight, so everything has a nice crisp white coat.
New adventures are awaiting us in a far away land — Cascadia.
Native habitat of the tree octopus, Lumberjax and Matt O’Brien, this northern land features evergreen forests, mass transportation and nearly 45-inches of annual rainfall.
Thankfully, our extended families have figured out how to survive in this hostile climate and are happy to teach us their secret.
So to our friends and colleagues, we say farewell. We will remember our time together fondly. We will hit the road before Halloween, so if you would like a goodbye hug now is the time.
